A Stanley Steamer in Page ! oh my !

We hope to see you in September for our Pull and Show. Bring your tractors, all makes of tractor are welcome, old engines, etc. We will be highlighting the Ferguson as this is the 1st SW Fall FENA Regional Show. This year one of our CCAMA members John Kirkland is featured on our commemorative pin with his newly restored Ferguson. Pins will be $1 and we even have some available from the past 2 years so you can buy the whole set for $3.
In fact we welcome anything old, and are excited about having a Stanley Steamer touring car. It is a 1922 model 735b. that translates to a condensing car (has a condenser, looks like a radiator) and is a 7 passenger touring car. Burns Kerosene as the main fuel, and white gas or Coleman fuel in the pilot burner. Steam pressure is 550 psi.
The tractor ride is planned to be even longer and with the lake up you might even get a glimpse of it from the ride.
While you don't need a reservation to attend the pull and show we do ask that those planning to pull or display preregister so that we have a space ready for you.
We will have a buffet on Saturday night, about $17 per person. Tickets required. Reserve your tickets for dinner now. judy-kitson@canyoncountry.net or call 928-645-3962

The tractors and treasures of Gene Tucker and Jim Kitson continue to grow. Yesterday, we drove to Camp Verde to pick up a dozer Gene had purchased.

As you can see it was sitting pretty deep in weeds, etc. It had been used with a saw mill that was in pretty bad shape. We understand that a lot of it has been stored away and is available to us, with the exception of 2 saw blades that have been sold. Our goal is to retrieve it in October and through the winter work on restoring it so that both it and the dozer can be on display at our tractor pull in 2010. For this year we will only have the dozer. But we were thrilled at the shape it was in, and how easily it started. As you can see Gene learned quickly how to drive it and put it up on the tractor.

The sled we built for the 2008 Pull
It was a big success. With it's 5 speed transmission, it not only allowed the lighter sleds a decent pull, but stopped the big sleds.

Jim could ride on the side and control the breaks and transmission. No more reaching underneath, everything is controlled from the outside.

Judy got her longest pull ever.
Pulling with the Farmall A in the past she has barely gotten started before the sled would stop the tractor. This time she got a chance to really feel pulling it a bit before it shut her down. Other pullers liked that they could pull it in the direction they wanted to go.

This year the plan is to get Judy's Ferguson restored. The 4 day pull event will feature the Ferguson Tractors as part of the FENA Ferguson Enthusiasts of North America Regional Shows. Making this the first event for a Central West Regional Show. Be sure to attend!

There will not only be a pull but displays, a Sat. night buffet (limited seating so get your reservation in early) and and overland ride.

Check out the motel listings below and reserve early. There is a lot to do and see in and around Page. Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon, the Navajo Village, Horseshoe Bend, fine restaurants, stores and Movie Theater. Something for everyone. Hope to see you there!
